The Tacaná Volcano in Unión Juárez is the highest peak in southeastern Mexico, located between Mexico, in this case partly in the municipality of Unión Juárez, Chiapas, and Guatemala, and which begins a series of volcanoes in Central America. Its high altitude (4,100 meters) allows one to distinguish all the climate levels and types of vegetation of the Sierra Madre, like nowhere else in the state and the entire Southeast.
The municipality of Unión Juárez is located in the south of the State of Chiapas, its name comes from the worthy of the Americas Benito Juárez, and shares the border with Guatemala. Due to its geography, Unión Juárez is one of the coffee-producing municipalities and at the same time where the tourist coffee route in Chiapas is developed. The main tourist attractions are the Tacaná Volcano, located 10 km from Unión Juárez and the Eco-tourist Centers, as well as cultural options such as the Casa del Museo del Café, in the Santo Domingo ejido.
