The parish and former convent of San Jerónimo in Aculco dates back to 1540. Aculco is one of the municipalities of the Mexican state of State of Mexico, was formed by the Otomi and later conquered by the Mexicas in the 14th century, its current name comes from the Nahuatl language and means "place where the water twists", it retains the features of its traditional architecture full of alleys and houses with large patios.
