Tlaolantongo Parish Church located in the municipality of Jopala, colonial style dating from the 16th century
Jopala is one of the 217 municipalities belonging to the state of Puebla. It has historical architectural monuments such as the Parish Church dedicated to the Holy Virgin of the Assumption. It dates back to the 16th century, located in the municipal seat and from which its main festival begins on August 15 in honor of the Virgin of the Assumption, with processions; dances of the "Quetzalines", "Voladores", "Tejedores" and "Huehues", popular dance; Colorful fireworks are burned (for mayordomias), its ecotourism is based on the Ajajalpan River, where you can practice fishing and swimming, and the Necaxa River, located 10 kilometers from the municipal seat.
On August 15th, in honor of the Virgin of the Assumption, the main festival is held, with processions; dances of the "Quetzalines", "Voladores", "Tejedores" and "Huehues", a popular dance; colorful fireworks are set off (by mayordomías). On November 1st and 2nd, All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day are celebrated, with offerings and visits to the cemetery. Holy Week is traditionally commemorated.
