San Cristobal Polaxtla Estate in San Martin TexmelucanAt the end of a street, a few minutes from San Martín, there is an iron gate that gives access to the main building of the San Cristóbal Polaxtla hacienda. The date of its creation is unknown, but it is known to be older than San Martín Texmelucan itself. The central courtyard houses a century-old ash tree. The hacienda-museum is considered one of the best in Latin America, containing European and New Spain paintings, ceramics, glassware, Mexican silver and large clocks.
The Municipality of San Martín Texmelucan is one of the 217 municipalities into which the Mexican state of Puebla is divided for its internal regime, it has beautiful architectural places such as the Former Franciscan Convent, it has colonial-type architecture, it was founded in the year of 1615, the Parish of San Martín Caballero, has a baroque-style colonial architecture, the hills of Tepatlaxco, it is an archaeological site located on the slopes of the Totolqueme hill whose occupation dates back to the year 1200 BC, on November 11 it is celebrated the patron saint's day in honor of the Virgen del Pilar with a fair, dances, fireworks, jaripeo, masses, prayers, processions, popular dances and music bands.
On November 11th the patronal festival is celebrated in honor of the Virgin of Pilar, on December 12th the Virgin of Guadalupe, on July 27th the Virgin of Carmen, on October 13th the Virgin of Fatima, the first Sunday in October the Virgin of the Rosary, the second Sunday in July the Virgin of Ocotla: with fair, dances, fireworks, rodeo, masses, prayers, processions, popular dances and music bands.
