The Municipal Palace, of civil colonial style. A two-story building with a gabled tile roof. It has a neoclassical style façade that is topped in the center with a mixed-linear pediment, where the public clock is housed.
Zapotitlán de Méndez is a municipality in the state of Puebla, its name means "among the zapotes" and it has several historical monuments such as the parish church dedicated to the Virgin of the Nativity, the Morelos Bridge from the late 19th century, and the bell tower outside the church from the 16th century. The Municipal Palace dates back to the 19th century, and the patron saint festival is celebrated on September 8 in honor of the Virgin of the Nativity. For ecotourism, there are the "Grutas Karmidas" (Karmidas Caves). These natural wonders are quite popular and worth visiting. Stones with engravings of the Aztec calendar, the origin of which is unknown, were also found in different parts of Zapotitlán.
On September 8th, the patronal feast, in honor of the Virgin of the Nativity, similar to the Virgin of Covadonga in Spain, it is celebrated with prayers, processions, games, rodeos and dances of Quetzalines, Voladores, Tejedores, Huehues, negritos and bullfighters. And the traditional Easter festivities and the Day of the Dead festivities.
