The Church of San Francisco, located in the municipality of Chalchicomula de Sesma, is a beautiful colonial-style building that preserves the historical beauty of the town.

Municipality

The Municipality of Chalchicomula de Sesma, which means in the hollow or well of the Chalchihuites, is one of the 217 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Puebla. It is located in the east of that entity, it has various monuments such as the parish of Jesús de las Tres Caídas built in 1600, the municipal Presidency was the viceroyal house in 1730 and many more, the Regional Fair and the festival in honor of Our Lord Jesus of the Three Falls are celebrated in the last week of August, the extraordinary beauty of the landscapes in the vicinity of the Citlaltépetl volcano and the Sierra Negra, where mountaineering is practiced, attracting national and international tourism.

Señor Jesús de las Tres Caídas is celebrated in the last week of August, where carpets of sawdust, sand and wild flowers are made for the procession, cultural and sporting events are held. February 2 is the day of the Candelaria, May 3 is the feast of the Holy Cross, May 23 is San Juan Nepomuceno, August 15 is the Virgin of the Assumption in Cozamaluapan, November 30 is the patronal feast of San Andrés and December 12 is the feast of the Most Holy Virgin of Guadalupe. A tradition that is carried out is to choose the queen who will be crowned in an artistic evening by the Governor of the State; Holy Week; May 5 is the battle of Puebla, September 15 and 16 are national holidays; November 20 is the anniversary of the Revolution where parades organized by educational institutions and the City Council are held, Christmas and New Year.
