The Ya Toch Barum Ecotourism Camp in Ocosingo began operations in 1994, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy the biodiversity of flora and fauna of the Lacandon Jungle and to live with the same family. Within the limits of the camp are the traditional Lacandon cornfield, three fish ponds for family consumption and a traditional crafts store. Crossed by a river, Yatoch Barum offers lodging services in rustic cabins and cabins with private bathrooms, a camping area and restaurant service.
The municipality of Ocosingo is one of the municipalities in which the state of Chiapas is represented, it is located in the east of the state and includes most of the Lacandon Jungle, its name comes from the Nahuatl word meaning Place of the Black Lord, it has various tourist places such as the Yaxchilán Archaeological Zone, the Toniná Archaeological Zone and that of Bonampak, as well as natural places such as La Laguna Miramar for eco-tourist recreation.
In Ocosingo the most important celebrations are the Fiesta de La Candelaria as well as the Trade Fair and the patron saint's festival which is celebrated from August 13 to 15.
