Chocohuital in Pijijiapan is located 54 kilometers from the city of Tapachula by paved road. It is an open sea beach and on the other side is an estuary full of mangroves. Beach sports activities can be done. In the Chocohuital Ranch, there is the social solidarity society Lancheros de Chocohuital, who offer nautical tourist services in the estuary where you can see aquatic and shore birds, crocodiles, alligators, and flora characteristic of the area such as red mangrove and the chocohuite tree.
The municipality of Pijijiapan is a municipality in the Mexican state of Chiapas, located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Its name is composed of two words, one mame pijiji, palmiped bird of the region and the Nahuatl apam, place of water, which means place of pijijis. The main tourist attractions are the Estero Costa Azul Chocohuital, a lush eco-tourist attraction. There are also other tourist centers such as Palo Blanco, Zapotal, Palmarcito, the island of San José (agua tendida) and Piedra de los Guerreros (Piedra del Soldadito).
