Inside the colonial-style parish church, the celebration of February 2nd begins. The tradition is that each year the Virgin is carried on different thrones around the city. All the families together make colorful rugs made from sawdust painted in colors. They are true artists.

Municipality

The municipality of Tuxtla Chico, a municipality in the state of Chiapas in Mexico, is located in the south of the state, on the border with Guatemala and its capital is the town of the same name, Tuxtla, in Nahuatl it means Place of Rabbits. The main tourist attraction is the Izapa Archaeological Zone, one of the main archaeological sites in Chiapas, founded around the year 1500 BC. For 1,000 years it was the largest and most important civil and religious center on the Pacific Plain.
