The Zacapulco Bar in Acapetahua is characterized by having mainly large extensions of natural estuaries with mangroves and open sea, in addition to being located within the La Encrucijada Biosphere Reserve, where visits can be made all year round. In this area, the evergreen mangroves reach up to 35 meters in height, considered the highest in the Mexican Pacific.
Acapetahua is one of the municipalities of the Mexican state of Chiapas. Its name comes from the Nahuatl Acatl-Petatl-Hua and is interpreted as Those Who Have Reed Mats. It is one of the main conservation sites for Biodiversity in Mexico, like La Encrucijada, which is a very important species reserve in the region.
In Acapetahua the most important celebrations are those of the Lord of Esquipulas on January 15, La Candelaria on February 2 and San Francisco de Asís on October 4.
