Oxchuc is an indigenous municipality located 48 km from San Cristóbal de las Casas, in the State of Chiapas, Mexico. The predominant ethnic group is the Tzeltal. Its name means Three Knots in the Tzeltal language. The main tourist attractions are the coniferous forest landscapes and a waterfall on the Mesbiljá River. In addition, the colonial-style church serves as a setting for the municipality's religious festivities.
In Oxchuc the most important celebration is the patron saint of Saint Thomas the Apostle.
