The Temple of Santo Tomás de Oxchuc is a colonial-style church characteristic of the region, from where the festival in honor of Santo Tomás begins and lasts three days from December 19 to 21. People from Oxchuc and other communities near the same municipality come here to ask for protection for their parents. Santo Tomás is recognized as the god of rain, which is why several towns that love their traditions and culture come from far away on pilgrimage to Oxchuc to make offerings and ask for well-being and rain for a good harvest in the field, as well as bringing seeds to bless.
