The Cueva Tejón Tourist Camp in Ocosingo aims to preserve the local flora and fauna, especially endangered species such as the jaguar, tapir and crocodile. They work in collaboration with the Yatoch Chu rum Artisanal Center, made up of 7 Lacandon women who strive to recover the value of traditional crafts and conserve the natural resources of the area. Due to their environmentally friendly practices, they offer guiding services, food and lodging in 3 rustic cabins with mosquito nets, with a maximum capacity for 15 people.
The municipality of Ocosingo is one of the municipalities in which the state of Chiapas is represented, it is located in the east of the state and includes most of the Lacandon Jungle, its name comes from the Nahuatl word meaning Place of the Black Lord, it has various tourist places such as the Yaxchilán Archaeological Zone, the Toniná Archaeological Zone and that of Bonampak, as well as natural places such as La Laguna Miramar for eco-tourist recreation.
In Ocosingo the most important celebrations are the Fiesta de La Candelaria as well as the Trade Fair and the patron saint's festival which is celebrated from August 13 to 15.
