The Miguel Hidalgo Central Park in Tapachula is a small urban plaza with street vendors, musicians, nearby cafes and a covered area with tables. Accessible to all tourists as it is located in the historic center, and next to the park there are older buildings in Tapachula.
Tapachula is one of the municipalities of the state of Chiapas, between the Sierra Madre and the Pacific Coastal Plain. Tapachula, in the Nahuatl language, means Tapacholla. Among the tourist attractions of this municipality are its beaches such as Playa Linda and Laguna Pozuelo, tourist centers, parks, traditional festivals and its coffee route.
In Tapachula, the following festivals are celebrated: San Benito, the Costa Chiapas International Expo, the San Agustín festival, the Jesús de la Buena Esperanza festival, the San Miguel festival, the San Sebastián festival, the San Caralampio festival and the Virgen de Guadalupe festival. In the town of Carrillo Puerto, a festival is held from January 7 to 15.
